Bókasafn 
Við kynnum með stolti ljósmyndasýninguna Kitsch, verk Thomas Hoeren.
Sýningin er samansafn mynda frá þremur borgum; Reykjavík, Berlín og Itoshima, þar sem viðfangið er Kitsch – Klisjur, í skrautmunum og umhverfi. Hvað er klisjukennt? Hvaða skraut er ásættanlegt og hvað er hallærislegt? Hvað endurspeglast í sál einstaklings, – og þjóðar, byggt á því skrauti sem þau velja sér, jafnvel þvert á almennt fegurðarmat?
Sýningin er samstarfsverkefni milli Bókasafns Hafnarfjarðar á 100 ára afmælisári þess, Þýska sendiráðsins og Sendiráðs Japans á Íslandi, með dyggri aðkomu Hafnarfjarðarbæjar. Opnunin verður þann 24. September kl 16:00.

The exhibition is a collection of photos from three cities; Reykjavík, Berlin and Itoshima, where the subject is Kitsch – Clichés, in ornaments and surroundings. What is cliché? What adornment is acceptable and what is obscene? What is reflected in the soul of an individual, – and a nation, based on the decoration they choose, even contrary to the popular assessment of style and taste?
The exhibition is a collaborative project between Hafnarfjörður Library on its 100th anniversary year, the German Embassy and the Embassy of Japan in Iceland, with the loyal support of the township of Hafnarfjörður. The opening will be on September 24 at 4:00 p.m.

Die Ausstellung ist eine Sammlung von Fotos aus drei Städten: Reykjavik, Berlin und Itoshima. Die Motive sind Kitsch – Clichés, in Ornamenten und Umgebungen. Was ist Clieché? Was ist Schmuck und akzeptabel und was ist obszön? Was spiegelt die Seele des Einzelnen und einer Nation, basierend auf der Dekoration, die sie wählen, wider – selbst entgegen der gängigen Einschätzung von Stil und Geschmack?
Die Ausstellung ist eine Kooperation zwischen der Bibliothek in Hafnarfjörður im Jahr des 100-jährigen Jubiläums, der Botschaft der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und der Botschaft von Japan in Island, mit der freundlichen Unterstützung von der Stadt Hafnarfjörður. Die Eröffnung findet am 24. September um 16 Uhr statt.
